Ilfracombe harbour has an aquarium at pier end of the quay, close to Verity, Damian Hirst's famous and striking statue, guarding the entrance to the harbour.
Along the Quay there are a number of options for various fishing trips alongside sea safari wildlife cruises and we have a high speed boat that charges just outside the harbour for the speed lovers amongst you.
The victorian Tunnels beach is a popular and unique wedding venue just along from Wildersmouth Beach.
Horse riding, quad biking, segway riding, falconry, a dinosaur park and zoo are other local attractions.
The breath taking Exmoor is just 20 mins drive away. Mind the freely grazing sheep as you drive through this beautiful and unspoilt area.
Visit Heddons Mouth for a beautiful walk through stream side ancient woodland, enjoy a delicious lunch or tea at The Hunters Inn nestling in the National Trust owned area.
Woolacombe has an absolutely stunning and extensive beach. Golden sands and the potential for fabulous surfing. Lessons are available along with board and wet suit hire.
There are a number of bars and eateries close to the Esplanade or bring a picnic and wander off to less crowded areas of the beach. The Marine Drive car park extends along the back of the dunes behind the beach with parking for 600 cars. There are many paths down through the dunes to the beach. Make sure you take what you need as there is only one small cafe along this area of unspoilt coastline.
You can usually see the ever popular Lundy Island from the beach. The Oldenberg (the island supply ship) runs from Ilfracombe to Lundy, booking is usually required. The island is a famous wild life reserve, it has one pub and a shop. The walk up from the landing point is fairly steep but transport is available for those needing it. No dogs are allowed.
Lee Bay is just three miles along the coast, slightly further if you are walking the coastal path. It is a small, unspoilt cove, great for rock pooling or just relaxing. The Grampus Inn is the only pub and serves decent food, local gin, beers and cider. A stunning place to relax and enjoy walking on the bay or in the surrounding area.
Saunton Sands boasts a world famous golf course and a stunning and extensive beach. surfing lessons are also available here.
Combe Martin has a charming beach and a variety of options for having a bite to eat.
Watermouth, on the way to Combe Martin, offers watersport activities including jet skis. It also has a family swimming pool.
Braunton and Barnstaple are a short drive away and offer great eateries and bars.
Westward Ho, Appledore, Crow Point, Braunton Burrows, Croyde and Georgeham as a short drive away.
